Ducks and stuff

Wednesday, November 10

Okay, I know this is a week late, but I'm not making any progress on my Latin homework. Hence, I will add my thoughts about last week's election to the whole heap. Being at GW, it is definitely not cool or "in" to have voted for Bush. My English class last week was even cancelled so everyone could go home and watch Kerry's concession speech.

And you know what? I learned a lot this past week. I realized that it was totally wrong of me to vote for Bush. I'm one of the nearly 60 million brainwashed people in this country who are uniformly stupid and bigoted. What have we done?!

If you voted for Kerry, on the other hand, you are intelligent and nonconformist. "Bush is an idiot" is the motto (and battle cry repeated ad nauseum) of the Open-minded Individuals Club, after all, and oh yeah, don't forget to make fun of his physical appearance. It's perfectly okay to dismiss all the people living in the midwestern and southern states based on stereotypes and an internet hoax correlating IQ score with voting preferences by geographic location. (By the way, remember that the validity IQ tests is questionable and obviously intelligence cannot simply be measured by a test, but it's okay in this case because haha! look, Bush voters are stupid!) Too bad the votes of those people living in "Jesusland" mattered, because, unlike them, you actually knew about the issues and, again, since they are all stupid, your opinions are better and your views are more important.

I've found myself wishing that the majority of my whiny peers would just keep their promise and move to Canada already.

At the same time, those who voted for Bush based on his faith in God must not become complacent. It's genuinely foolish to equate the Republican party with Christianity.

Whoever you voted for, know what you believe in, and PRAY for this country.

That is all.
