Ducks and stuffTuesday, November 5you know what's weird? i'm in the middle of washington, dc right? capital of america. today is election day. the vast majority of people here can vote. so how come we don't get a day off too? elementary school and high school kids, the vast majority of whom cannot vote, up in the suburbs get a day off. i know they do that because they need to set up polling places in schools and whatnot, but i don't think that's a very good reason. they wouldn't need to set up during the day, because most of the people who CAN vote don't have the day off. it's mildly ironic that this is politics town, and they apparently need our vote, but we have to go to class. i would smack down my vote too, but my voter registration card is in the mail. my parents sent me a package about a month ago. i still haven't received it. i hope it's not lost. not just because of my voter registration card and the mla book, but it has the "pearl harbor" dvd!! =O |
