Ducks and stuffSaturday, November 30i am home!! =)got home on wednesday night...i had the most ghetto trip home. took the greyhound bus, and 20 minutes after we left it broke down. then the driver got it to start, and we were turning around to go back to dc, and it broke down again. so we had to get off and get on another bus that was headed to philly. there was so much traffic, it took about 5 hours to get to delaware. my dad picked me up and we got home at around 9 pm. i was pooped. ate lasagna! yay!!! it was exciting. seeing my family and my dog...and my room in shambles because my mom was cleaning it. thursday: THANKSGIVING. hurrah. went to the thanksgiving football game against manalapan. it was weird. first, i took my car for a drive around the development to get practice. it felt odd. but it was really great to drive again, though left turns felt really awkward. picked up jessica, then we went to the high school. it felt soooo strange. i had to PAY to get in the game! they should have let alumni in for free. there was a breakfast for the class of '02, but i didn't go. i've never paid for a football game ever. i've never watched a football game without wearing a marching uniform either, so. the best part was seeing friends. saw a bunch of people, that was really awesome. when we got there half time was about to start. the score was 0-28, in the good ole' marlboro tradition. saw the band show...yay for marching band kids. it felt very unnatural watching a show instead being in it. they don't have uniforms this year, because there are too many cool people in band. got to see a bunch of band kids, and saw lara. after the band show and seeing people, we left. i didn't see any football action, but that wasn't really the point. i went there to 1) feel like a cool, wise alumni, 2) see the band, and 3) see friends. i was kinda relieved that everyone was pretty much the same, no drastic changes. felt like old times, except we are cooler and wiser. thanksgiving dinner.....mmmm..... my sister and i went to see "harry potter" yesterday, but when we got there only the first 2 rows were left, and that would be a big waste of time and money, so we didn't get tickets and went to barnes and noble and went home. at least i got to practice my driving on rt 9. got to see all the crazy jersey drivers. i've missed them. it was good to be back, a part of the fray, so to speak. yesterday i was really excited to go to fellowship, but i've been kind of sick, and i was really tired and sick last night, so i couldn't go. =( so i rested and hung out with my mom, and took a nap. went to the mall today....i've missed that too. dc has good shopping, but it does not compare to the frenzy of consumer activity that is new jersey. sister's baptism tomorrow. =) i think i'll go eat now. |
