Ducks and stuff

Wednesday, July 24

i got back from minnesota...er, saturday, but i haven't felt like updating. so i will do that now.

minnesota was fun! we did so much stuff, as we always do on our action-packed summer vacations. from the stories my dad told us, i expected all the minnesotians to be vikings. but they were normal people! i even saw the occasional asian in minneapolis. which is a very cool city. and we went to mall of america (of course =) and did a lot of shopping there (10 hours in that mall!) and nicollet mall, which is the main shopping street in minneapolis, no cars are allowed on it. and we spent sunday at lake superior. it's the biggest lake, i'm not sure if in the world or just the u.s., and it seems like an ocean! it's really nice there though. and we did other stuff, visited a family friend, went canoeing, saw the mississippi river, and we ate out every day!! =) one restaurant that really stood out was chipotle, which we ate at for lunch before we left for the airport. it has tacos and burritos and stuff, but they are the hugest burritos ever!! so yummy and so gigantic!

my dad has a little one-room apartment, so we slept on the floor. i had really vivid and weird dreams every single night. it was so strange. and the door to his apartment isn't like a real door like the other apartments, all you can see in the wood paneling is a keyhole, and you don't even really notice it. so the door blends in with the wall, so when we came out it was really strange looking: four people emerging from the wall, like harry potter, like a clown car. one time we frightened this old man who was sitting on a couch in the lounge right outside the apartment. it was funny. =) so that's basically it about minneso-tah.
